I Will Never Leaf You
A gauntlet was thrown down. A group of fabric collage artists that I belong to was given the challenge to create a collage containing two snails using any background and color combination our hearts desired.
Once the completed collages began being shared, it quickly became apparent that browns and grays led the way as earth-toned snail duos were pictured slithering through mud puddles and across concrete sidewalks. My imagination, on the other-hand, envisioned a technicolor moon-glow setting, and would not let go of the notion until I created precisely that: a starry night shared by two vibrant leaf-lovers.
What a perfect gift this would be for an expectant mother to add a bit of whimsy to her little one’s nursery or for a young child who’s crazy about all of the various critters outdoors. You know, snakes, and snails, and puppy dog tails and all of that…
This raw edge fabric collage is mounted in a black wooden frame with a wide, white mat, and a shatterproof acrylic cover.
Framed size: 24.5” x 18”
