The Purple of Pansies: 25" x 28"
One of my favorite color combinations is the deep purple found in pansy petals juxtaposed with their forest green leaves. There’s something so cool and calming about the blend. Add a chinoiserie blue pot, as well as a complementary background for a picture perfect finish.
Raw edge fabric collage professionally mounted in a black wooden frame with a 2” off-white border, museum quality glass to prevent fading and reduce glare, and picture wire on the back so it’s ready for hanging.
Pattern by textile artist, Emily Taylor.
Framed Size: 25” x 28”
“Faded by time,
The painting still touches her heart.
Her mind’s eye sees:
The gray head
Bent over the fresh, white paper
The rounded shoulders
Covered by the red print smock,
The rimless spectacles
Sitting low on her patrician nose,
The paintbrush moving,
Bringing delicate pansies from outside in.
Long gone now,
The artist’s wisdom still guides her.”
